23 Oct Transformative initiative “Energy Solution Africa”
Energy Solution Africa, an innovative initiative for #Africa, has been launched to drive advancements in renewable energy solutions. This initiative is set to revolutionize Africa’s energy landscape by empowering Green Mini-Grid (GMG) developers to implement their sustainable use of energy strategies. Qualified developers from #Kenya, #Uganda, #DRC, #Cameroon, #SierraLeone, #Madagascar, #Mali, and #Benin can apply for grants of up to US$ #500K per project.
Sustainable use of energy may include leveraging energy for income-generating activities like grain mills, agro-processing machines, refrigeration, water irrigation systems and small-scale appliances used by MSMEs (such as small freezers). In general, the grant is open to all technologies if they have the potential to benefit MSMEs and households through utilizing renewable energy that contributes to the reduction of emissions of carbon dioxide. Moreover, the grant places a special emphasis on empowering women entrepreneurs.
