Empowering 24,885 Students in Ethiopia Through the Establishment of a Digital Learning Platform

We’re proud to share with you our collaboration with St. Mary University (SMU) in Ethiopia, supporting a groundbreaking project that brings quality education closer to students in remote areas.  For the 3 years of the project, suPPPort arranged close to € 200,000 to run the project which aims to bridge the educational gap by establishing a robust digital learning platform that will reach 24,885 students in remote areas by 2024 in Autumn. Additionally, the digital platform offers a diverse range of 11 online programs, including 2 short courses, 5 undergraduate degrees, and 4 graduate degrees. SMU ensure educational fairness by not just offering online access but also providing 13 regional centres in remote areas with computers and internet access.  Furthermore, through collaborative efforts, SMU provides students with crucial technological support and guarantees seamless participation for all in the online learning experience. Moreover, this project is not just about the present but about sustainable growth. SMU will make it part of its existing education structures to ensure the platform’s long-term sustainability and expansion, with the goal of offering 20 undergraduate and 14 graduate programs in the future. This self-sustaining model provides long-term educational opportunities for generations to come. By supporting projects like this, we invest in the potential of individuals and contribute to building a brighter future for generations to come.
